Oceanz Seafood Scoop Best Chip Shop Award

Oceanz Seafood Silverdale store have taken out New Zealand’s best Chip Shop award for 2009. Following a combination of public text voting, mystery judging and chip fat analysis Oceanz won the award from over 400 fish & chip outlets in New Zealand.
Store Manager Paul Francis said that it was great to win the national award after Oceanz stores had won regional awards for the last 4 years and been named Auckland’s best fish and chip shop by the Metro Magazine in 2008. Paul said the secret to their success was ensuring the oil was always in premium condition. “We always use fresh fish, much of which comes from our own boat, and this helps ensure the oil stays in great condition. We also filter the oil daily and ensure that it is kept at a consistent temperature”
Oceanz has six fish & chip outlets in the Auckland region all of which follow the same successful formula.

Its Official - Metro has voted Oceanz as Aucklands best Fish and Chip outlet for 2008. This closely followed our Albany store being named as the best Chip Shop in the Chisco Best chip Shop Competion for the second year in a row. That makes in 3 years in a row that Oceanz have been regional winners as our Botany store won in 2006 - and was close again in 2008.
